It seems finally Apple has heard all the complaints of very less storage on iPhone 16GB model for a device that can capture 4K video. If believed to a report published in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) lately, the entry-level of upcoming iPhone 7 would be offering a 32GB onboard storage.
Apple introduced 16GB baseline storage in 2013 with iPhone 5. Phil Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Apple, then argued the iCloud services may fill the gap of lack of internal storage. Analyst firm Trendforce had earlier this year predicted Apple may come up with 256GB model too this holiday.
WSJ further adds the iPhone 7 will carry a thinner design compared to predecessor and to be improved water resistance, which could be rational the device to come with wireless headset or Apple earbuds instead of the 3.5mm headphone jack. It is also reported the iPhone 7 to come with Apple Lightening charging port.
Added to all these, the bigger sibling, iPhone 7 Plus, is learned to be featuring a dual-camera sensor. Cnet writes Apple has patented a system that can disable video-recording functions by force of an iPhone at concert venues by using infrared signals that sends messages to the device. It is not yet known whether the technology is to come with the iPhone 7 or iOS 10.
Both the phones are expected to be launched in September, but some believes major refresh cannot be expected. However, the 2017 iPhone may come with an all-glass design and OLED display apart from embedded Home button in the screen. 2017 will mark the 10 year anniversary of the Apple smartphone. The original iPhone was launched in 2007. So, interestingly some major design changes could be seen in iPhone 8.
As of now only the top brass knows what iPhone 7 has in store for tech enthusiasts following a lean year in terms of sales for the predecessor. Apple CEO Tim Cook had earlier promised such upgrades to come with the upcoming device that users won’t be able to live without it. The phone is now desperately awaited to see what really changes amid dozens of speculations and leaks even from reliable media houses like WSJ.
